Year One Trip - Dow Corning Nature Reserve May 09
Year One Trip to Dow Corning Nature Reserve
The children in Class 3 and 4 visited Dow Corning Nature Reserve for a first hand experience of the creatures that live in ponds and grassy areas. The day was very wet but this didn't stop Year One from having a really enjoyable day. Here are some photographs to show you what we did and the creatures we discovered!

The Education centre was perfect for creating wooden name badges and talking about the activities. We had our lunch and break here - (it was warm and dry!)

We used binoculars to find different birds in the pond. We had to keep very still and quiet.

We spotted a goose, swans, ducks and a coot.

We had to find our way to different trees with a partner leading us and a blindfold on! We found it quite difficult. We also found a newt!

We used a special net to find insects in the trees and long grass.

We found tadpoles and dragonfly larvae in the ponds. It was very muddy but we really enjoyed the trip.
