Class J8
Autumn Term
This term we will be investigating what it was like in WW2.
We will be working in thinking groups to research and record the main events of the war on a timeline.
We will research bomb shelters and create our own models.
We will be reading Carrie's War, a story about evacuees sent to Wales during the war and create posters, pictures, letters and short stories about evacuees.
We will be finding out all about the rationing of food and clothes during the war and go shopping with our very own ration books.
We will be looking at artefacts such as gas masks, ration books, identity books, photographs and much more.
We have created an amazing WW2 resource room with its very own Anderson Shelter.

We visited the WW2 museum in Swansea where we dressed up to 1940s clothes, listened and danced to 1940s music. Looked at historical artefacts from the 1940s and investigated a 1940s street.
Design and Technology
This week we investigated the different kinds of bread we can buy. We looked at, smelt and tasted nine different types of bread. Next we researched how to make our own bread. We designed and made our own bread and had great fun tasting it.

First we learnt how to pose in the 'on guard position:
